Fuji Heavy Industries recently announced they hoped to have their own hybrid vehicle available in 2012. Toyota will be providing technology support for the car.

Ikuo Mori, president and chief executive at Fuji Heavy said, “We will take advantage of our alliance with Toyota.”

Toyota is currently the biggest player in the hybrid arena, holding about an 80% market share for hybrids sold in the United States. Their biggest seller is the Toyota Prius and the , a car that uses both gasoline and battery power to fuel the engine. The 2010 model has optional solar power available. The Prius has an estimated gas mileage of 51 MPG for highway driving and 48 MPG for city driving.

People want better gas mileage, and Toyota is prepared to deliver it to them with their 2010 Prius. The Prius has been the top-selling and award winning Hybrid Electrical Vehicle (HEV) since it’s introduction. The car has always offered consumers a comfortable ride and high fuel efficiency for a reasonable price.

Toyota has put a great emphasis on fuel efficiency with their next generation Prius model, and now motorists can expect a 50mpg average.

“To get there, Toyota switched to a larger and more powerful 1.8-liter I-4 engine. Using what’s known as the Atkinson Cycle, the gasoline side of the powertrain develops more torque — in this situation good for better launch and for improved mileage. Fuel economy also is enhanced by the use of an electric water pump and the complete elimination of friction-causing engine belts.”

This year, Toyota is going to have more competition than ever. The Honda Insight and the Volkswagen Jetta TDI both enter the “green space” in order to try an unseat the Prius. The Prius is now Toyota’s 3rd best selling car in the United States.

Toyota plans on remaining the leader in the gasoline-electric hybrid market. According to the company, they claim the 2010 Toyota Prius will offer 3 industry firsts. This means it will be the first time anywhere these features are offered in an automobile.

Recently rumors began circulating that the Prius would offer an astounding 65mpg fuel efficiency, but the company says that was a result of miscommunication, and isn’t a true claim.

“For the record, Toyota has only a small test fleet of PHVs in the U.S and has never offered mileage estimates on PHV technology. These PHVs are being used for auto displays, brief demonstrations and university studies. They are very early ‘converted’ prototypes using double nickel metal-hydride batteries,” Toyota said in a statement.

Right now, the 2010 Toyota Prius looks like the car to buy for people who are interested in fuel efficiency.

Toyota has went to the next level with their new environment and power durability motors for vehicles based on the concept of running on Hybrid Synergy. Toyota has always made cars that are durable and safe.

Toyota has shifted its focus to the environment and builds environment friendly products. They’ve been working on a project which focuses on securing energy and dividing it into various energy sources. Still, it requires a supply of gasoline resources. Vehicles with conventional engines are sold as gasoline engines having lean burn and gas engines with direct injection, the most common engine currently used.

In hybrid technology, these engines are modified to replace petroleum with other fuels like CNG rather than using gasoline or LPG. Toyota has installed the new hybrid engines in vehicles which are being sold. In most cases, electric is an alternative power source for these vehicles. In hybrid automobiles, the engine and the motor is combined together. Due to this, the two sources of power are fused together; Hybrid cells with fuel cells are able to generate electricity by undergoing a chemical reaction between the gas molecules of oxygen and hydrogen. The electricity is passed into the motor for the power needed by the vehicle.

Toyota has a project called Toyota eco that is made to curb the increasing CO2 emissions from the vehicles and to help prevent against further Global Warming. The project aims at creating hybrid vehicles which will increase fuel efficiencies in conventional vehicles. Hybrid systems created by Toyota is being used in passenger vehicles. The powered train in the system sticks with the gasoline motor and the engine, since it does not have any exterior charging, it will work very effectively when driving on the highway. This hybrid system doubles the efficiency of a normal fuel engine.

Toyota put this engine into their eco friendly car, the Prius. The Prius was the first car to be considered s hybrid passenger automobile. This model is available internationally. Needless to say, the Prius is a very innovative vehicle. The Toyota hybrid technology is always being upgraded and enhanced.

The new model is named as Toyota Hybrid System part –II. It has high levels of efficiency that balances between the Environmental durability and the amount of power that could be produced. The motor has an output which is 1.5 times better. It has pump action power voltage and has improved in its controlling system. The motor has synergy which is between the motor and the engine power.
The key technology which is being used by Toyota is the hybrid technology. It started with the developing of EV’s. It has been commercialized into hybrid cells having fuel cells and hybrid automobiles. Toyota is doing further research that’s resulted in the building of new and advanced hybrid technology THS-II. Toyota is doing technical and throttle advances in its automobiles so as to create an environmental friendly transportation.
