New Powertrain For Chevy Malibu To Boost Fuel Efficiency

Fuel efficiency is becoming paramount in the minds of almost all consumers. The new Chevy Malibu will sport a six-speed transmission and a four cylinder engine, a combination designed to make cars go farther on less gasoline. The Malibu should be able to compete with the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord, which come with similar configurations.

“We’re the only guys in the segment with a six-speed transmission,” said Dave Whittaker of Chevrolet.
Customers in the domestic market are becoming increasingly concerned with fuel efficiency as gas prices routinely hit record highs. 2008 Chevy Malibus have already been moving at a fast clip, and the recent upgrade should continue the trend.
