Cash For Clunkers Program Starts Today

If you’ve been driving a gas hog and you’re looking to trade up for a newer, more fuel efficient automobile, now might be the perfect time to cruise some dealer’s lots.

Today is the day that the Goverment launches the Cash For Clunkers program. This incentive initiative gives consumers up to $4,500.00 credit on the purchase of a new, more fuel efficient vehicle for trading in their old ‘clunker.’ In order to qualify for the credit, the vehicle being traded in must get 18 miles or less to the gallon and be less than 25 years old.

On top of the Cash For Clunkers program, many dealerships are also offering deep discounts in the way of rebates and other incentives to move inventory off of their lots.

If you want to take advantage of this opportunity to save some money and upgrade your vehicle, you better act fast. This program runs through November 1, 2009 or until the funds that have been allotted to the program run out…whichever comes first.
