Tips for buying a used car
Nowadays buying a used car makes good sense, both financially and practically. If you’re planning to buy a car and you’ve decided to go for a second hand car, you’re heading in the right direction, as a move like this cuts the cost of the car drastically. A used car can be considered almost as good as a new one if it is just one or two years old, such cars are available at discounts of 20-40% from the current market price, so you will not only get a nearly new car, but you’ll save big money in the long run. I’m sure you’ve heard about a how a new car loses much of its’ value when it leaves the lot. On newer “used cars” this savings can translate into more auto for the money.

Similarly a person who has just bought a new car might have landed in a financial mess and will prefer to get rid of his debts by selling that expensive car. Whatever reason might be, buying used cars ultimately benefits the buyers.
The older concept of buying used cars has been completely altered over the years. In the old days people used to sell 10 years or even older cars, but you won’t see this so much anymore.
If you are diligent in your search, you can get really good deals at an amazing price. One of the biggest advantages is that it’s possible to get your dream car with all the necessary features at a very low price provided you’re patient and look for the car of your choice from multiple sources. It’s possible for the buyer to buy a used car for up to half the price of purchasing a new car.
Disadvantages of buying a used car
One of the disadvantages of buying an old car is that there is no guarantee or assurance offered to the purchaser, when buying a used car as to whether the car is in good condition or with the right mileage. Also there is no guarantee that the car is maintained properly and is free from any kind of accidents. There may be problems in the engine of the car or with the transmission which can me unknown until the car has been transferred to the new buyer.
Sometimes the purchaser may end up spending more money on the maintenance of the used car than he would have spent on a brand new car in the first place! In such cases the buyer loses her peace of mind with the never ending problems caused by the car. They end up cursing the day they hoped to save money and bought such a ridiculous piece of junk.
In the end, you’ll need to weigh your options and make an informed decision.
